Paul Eugene Gipson III
I moved to Joplin the summer of 2011 to be closer to my fiance - she is a long time native of Neosho, MO and a landscape architect. She currently is employed as an Engineering Tech for Empire Electric. We became husband and wife on October 15th, 2011.
This is my fourth year as a teacher for the Joplin School District, but my 10th year teaching the content areas of American Government and American History. Everyday, with every colleague and student I meet, I am increasingly impressed with the talent and integrity of the people within Joplin Schools. The teachers are dynamic and passionate classroom instructors, the administrators are exemplary models of professionalism, and the students are brilliant individuals always ready to surprise their teachers with their creativity.
In 2005 I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. In May of 2011, I graduated from Mizzou once more with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. I spent 6 years as a 7-12 Social Studies teacher at the Climax Springs R-IV School District. There I taught World History, American Government, US History, Missouri History, World Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, & Psychology. My students there have experienced all levels of success. My proudest accomplishment is that many of my former students are now very successful college students majoring in one of the many areas of Social Sciences.
I am passionate about Civics and History, and I will work very hard to make these subjects meaningful for all students. I anticipate that this school year will be a lot of work, but it will also be very enjoyable. I look forward to being your instructor. Please email any questions you have to [email protected]

Paul Eugene Gipson IV
::Jan. 2013::
Paul IV enjoys it when you bump noses with him and in a high pitch voice say, "daddy." His other favorite activities are saving up diaper loads so to see how explosive he can make them, laying on the ground and knocking this plastic frog with his hand, and falling asleep tummy first on his mom at the most inopportune times.
Paul IV is a future honor roll student and Eagle Athlete!
Nov. 2013
Paul IV has grown up quite a bit between last semester and this semester. He loves peas, hates squash, he crawls and loves to be chased. He was a dragon for Halloween. His first birthday is approaching quickly! He can say "momma" "dada" and "baba". He is very offended by anything that is stacked and must immediately proceed to knock it down if possible. Below are a few of my favorite pictures of "my boy" as I usually refer to him, since calling him "Paul" just sounds odd to me.
